from edgy to jaded.

So I found out about Augustory:

Augustory, the story of your blog

So I thought it would be fun to write about my blogging journey.

It starts at the age of 16. Believe it or not, I used to have an "edgy atheist teen" blog. I was fairly popular, in fact, among other edgy atheist blogs of course. I contributed two some other blogs and also had contributions on my own. If you have ever read my stuff, I guess it wouldn't be too hard to imagine what that looked like.

I am no longer an atheist.

It took a while before I would open another blog. This time, it was a brief (and ultimately failed) attempt at writing short fiction. I think I was around 21 when I did this, so, 5 years passed between the first blog and the second one. My writing was (and still is) shit, but it was something, and it was fun. I actually managed to write for a while before I ... life changed. I also got discouraged because my writing was so terrible , what can you do.

It's in Spanish, but you can read it if you want.

And now this blog. Which I recommend you do not read. It's mostly bitterly throwing punches at """western"" culture". But also some thoughts on tarot and some updates on my activities, and the ocassional chicken report.

It's interesting to see how I went from an edgy teen atheist through a failed writer to an edgy old western apostate. I imagine the writer phase was a lot more interesting than the others. Should I start writing fiction again?

As for what keeps me blogging... I guess it's the need to express myself. To get my thoughts out there for someone to read, even if that someone never arrives. I keep thinking that my thoughts are oh so original and I really need to get them out to the world, especially now with the _interesting_ times that we are living, I keep telling myself that I have insights I need the world to hear about. But I don't do with social media. I don't do with anything that has more than 10 users. I like the quiet place that is the smol.pub. I tried bearblog for a minute but, for one thing, I don't like to pay monthly, and, honestly, well over half of the post in there are about AI or are written by people working in tech in one way or another. And I don't relate. Quite the opposite. If I were to write there what I write here, I'd get shadowbanned right away (the owner already made this clear in his Code of Conduct. I do not agree but I understand completely why).

Anyway, that is my blogging journey. Not a big deal. In the mean time, I will keep posting whatever I want, perhaps in a few years I get the itch to write fiction again.

And inflict my bitterness on the smol.pub community. For that I am sorry.
